MAC PLAN-20 (Covid Relief Response)

Established in 2014, Making A Change Group (MAC) is an organization formed to engage youth, families, and communities through developmental workshops such as social, emotional, character building, and career and life preparedness, outreach and enrichment initiatives.

In light of the Covid-19 pandemic, MAC Group has stepped up in the face of this crisis to meet the challenges faced by our youth and families in ways that are necessary during this time. In order to offer structure to our youth and families, we’ve organized a variety of initiatives to assist:

  • We’ve developed an informational hub on our Making A Change Group Facebook Page.

  • We stream live interviews and informational resources and sessions daily at 10am hosted by Cory Long, Executive Director.

  • We have increased virtual wellness checks and calls directly to the youth and families.

  • We offer daily virtual social and emotional mentoring sessions for youth at 10 am on our @teammacig Instagram page through a live stream.

  • We’ve partnered with local restaurant owners and food pantries to begin delivering hot meals and groceries to our most vulnerable families.

During the initial phase 1 of our MAC Plan-20, We have partnered with:

Bittersweet Kitchen-Media, PA

Church of the Overcomer- Trainer, PA

Occasionally Yours- Swarthmore, PA

St. Paul A.M.E Church (Food Pantry)- Chester, PA

Neighbor to Neighbor (Food Pantry) – Prospect Park, PA

For those who have medical and special needs and find challenges obtaining supplies, we are ordering limited supplies from Amazon to assist.

We have a small delivery team on staff making weekly pick-ups and deliveries. We’ve purchased full personal protective equipment (PPE) for those brave individuals serving our community on the front lines.

We are change agents. Our impact is made possible by the commitment of our staff, volunteers, and donors. Your donation  will help MAC continue its work in our community and beyond. Click the button above to make a contribution.

Our vision is to create a better world where today's youth are developed into tomorrow's leaders, and families are engaged and supported to impact communities.
